Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Rachel Travis
Dr. Travis has been practicing optometry since 2003. She opened Insight Eyecare in 2014 after working in Edgewood and Lexington, Kentucky. She received her undergradaute degree in Biology from Western Kentucky University and her Optometry Doctorate from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Travis resides in Union with her husband and two children. She has a passion for traveling and is working on her goal of running a marathon in all 50 states!
Dr. Lauren Spencer
Dr. Spencer has been a resident of the Union, KY area for most of her life and attended St. Henry District High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky and her Optometry Doctorate from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. In 2018, she joined Insight Eyecare. She then completed a residency program at Bowersox Vision Center in Louisville, KY, in Pediatrics, Binocular Vision, Vision Therapy, and Vision Rehabilitation in 2020. Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Spencer started the Vision Therapy Program at Insight Eyecare and is now a partner in the business. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Kentucky Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Spencer currently resides in Union with her husband and 2 small children and has a passion for working with children and adults of all ages!
